A big thank you to everyone that donated fruit and vegetables to enable us to have so much fun last Friday. We had a really lovely day making art pictures out of fruit and vegetables inspired by Giuseppe Arcimboldo. We made collages and faces using different fruits and vegetables. We will make a display of this outside our classroom in the corridor. The children then spent the afternoon making fruit salad. They identified the fruit, helped to peel and cut in into smaller pieces.

We had a lovely afternoon this Tuesday in the African Textiles Art Workshop run by Andrew. The children have come home with their creations.

Our ‘Kite eating tree’ journey turned us into storytellers this week. We are writing the beginning, middle and end of our own stories.

Place value continued this week in maths. We are trying to consolidate the children’s understanding of place value and what the digits represent in different formats. Also identifying the operation needed during our flash back consolidation of previous learning.

Sarah visited this week in Roots of Empathy and read us a story all about kindness at playtime.

In Science we looked at why exercise is important to keep our body healthy. Can the children tell you the different reasons why?
