Wellbeing & Family Support

We understand that children thrive when they feel happy, safe, supported and valued. We are committed to promoting the emotional wellbeing of all our pupils and providing support for families whenever it is needed.

Our wellbeing and family support provision helps children develop confidence, resilience and positive relationships, ensuring they are ready to learn and achieve their full potential.

Meet Our Wellbeing Lead

Hello, I am Mrs Ricotta, the Wellbeing Lead and Family Support Worker at Hall Meadow Primary School.

My role is to support children and families throughout their time at Hall Meadow. I work closely with pupils, parents and carers in a positive, proactive and nurturing way, helping everyone feel confident and comfortable seeking support when needed.

How I Can Help

In school, I offer a wide range of wellbeing support for children, including:

  • Wellbeing check-ins
  • Anxiety and emotional support
  • Drawing and Talking Therapy
  • Sand Play Therapy
  • Social and emotional interventions
  • Behaviour and relationship support

I also work alongside families through Early Help Plans where additional support or involvement from external agencies may be beneficial.

Support for Families

Every family is unique, and sometimes additional support may be needed. I can provide advice, guidance and signposting to a range of external services, including:

  • School Nursing Team
  • Mental Health Support Team
  • Bereavement Support Services
  • Housing Support Services

This is not an exhaustive list, and support will always be tailored to the needs of individual children and families.

Contacting Mrs Ricotta

Parents and carers are welcome to speak with me about any concerns regarding their child's wellbeing, emotional health or safeguarding.

You can contact me through the school office or speak to me on the gate at the beginning of the school day. I am always happy to arrange a meeting to discuss how we can support your child and family.

Helping Children Feel Safe

We all need to feel safe. Every child has the right to feel safe at all times.

Feeling safe is essential for children's emotional wellbeing, confidence and success in learning. When children feel secure and supported, they are better able to develop positive relationships, build resilience and achieve their potential.

At Hall Meadow Primary School, we teach children about:

  • Trusted adults
  • Positive friendships and peer relationships
  • Personal safety
  • Seeking help when they need it

We use Helping Hands to help children identify trusted people they can turn to for support. This approach encourages children to develop confidence, recognise safe relationships and know where to seek help if they are worried or concerned.

As a result, our children know there are trusted adults both at home and at school who will listen, support and help them stay safe.
